controller/keyboard problems stuck at gandalf vs saruman

I get to the fight between Gandalf and Saruman and it has a X (xbox controller) above saruman but when I press it nothing happens.

I can switch to keyboard controls but same problem and I can switch to frodo other chracters, also tried it in coop mode. The controller works fine in prologe/hobbiton and black riders sections and I have tried doing it with just keyboard but still get stuck when it come to gandalf (where he is in first person view) as I cant get him to do anything. Other things I've tried is swapping controller to other player and remapping the buttons.

I've searched for this problem but oddly no one has had same thing happen....not sure if it's just something really simple I need to do :)

not meaning to be rude... but... have you tried tapping 'x' button several times? not just pressing it once?

Same problem. Not sure what the solution is. Do I HAVE to use a control pad for PC instead of the keyboard?

You just need to keep tapping the X button. If you are playing on keys it's whatever attack is bound to.
