No sound at all in LEGO Lotr

I have just bought the Lego Lord of the rings video game and finally opened it up to discover there is no sound, at the opening credits or during the prologue i didnt go any further becuase i want to enjoy the game properly with sounds....

I have looked and looked and i cnat find any where any fix or help or even suggestion that this problem exists but it does!!

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because id rather not have wasted my money and i do want to play this game

I am using a HP dm4 beats edition laptop which should play the gmae with no problems at all according to canyourunit

Thanks for reply and the obvious is probably necessary But all my sound drivers are up to date any other ideas?

i get the same problem but only when i play on my laptop, not my desktop...

me too, same trouble on laptop. All sound drivers are up to date. I also try to reinstall the game with no success.

I have the exact same problem, emailed support, and they not only took forever to respond but also provided ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. BIG thumbs down to Steam.

turns out it wasnt up to date i updated and restarted and it worked fine :/

@WoOdLeR : just for curiosity : how do you see that your drivers were not up to date? (Sorry for english)

The sound worked when I bought the game. Then it stopped working early this year. I just quit playing it then. My sound drivers haven't been updated by Sound Blaster since 2009. Who would think that was the issue? Sure enough, I found out there was an update in December. Blame it on Windows 8 I guess. When will the day come when all of this ♥♥♥♥ just works?

If you have an Nvidia Graphic Card, update his driver : this method has worked for me :)

In my case the problem was with the Game Bar. I have tried troubleshooting and then reinstalling sound drivers for my hardware (MacBook Air"13 2013 with Win10Pro). Then without any hope I have checked the Game Bar and I have found that sound specifically form LOTR was muted. I suppose that I might have used by accident a keyboard shortcut. So I would recommend you to CHECK THE GAME BAR SETTINGS FIRST
