Game doesn't start

I am using a computer running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. When I try to run Lego Lord of the Rings, my status changes to in-game for a few seconds before reverting to online. The game itself does not start.
Can anyone help me with this issue?

I fixed this problem by downloading the correct version of direct x. Hope this helps other people as well.

Is it not DirectX 11? For me it says launching, but nothing shows up.

I am using a computer running Windows 8 and the game won't start. Is this also a DirectX problem?

As I don't have a Windows 8 PC I don't know, but I would say downloading the Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer (follow the link above) would be a good first port of call.

Thanks anyway. As that installer doesn't support Windows 8, I don't think that's it.

I had the same problem. Manually installing DirectX solved it. Thanks for the link, DoctorDavid!

I installed Directx indicated by DocotrDavid and everything works fine now. Thank you all!
(I'm using Windows 8!)

I clicked the link and i redirected me to a windows 10 download which I already have but when i googled directx for windows 10 the first link that came up was on the mircosoft website but the download link won't work. help i'm missing sound if anyone has windows 10 and fixed this problem i would be so appreciated.

Hmm, does the video work properly? And have you tried installing the audio drivers directly from realtek or whoever made your audio card/onboard audio chipset?
