Game won't detect mouse
Is this game exclusively keyboard controlled? The game won't detect my mouse. I'm on a laptop with a mouse connected via USB and the mouse pad turned off.

Has anyone else had this problem? How can I fix it?

Thanks for anyone's help!

As far as I know, none of the Traveler's Tale Lego games have mouse support. They're really made to be used with a controller.

You're kidding me! REALLY?!?!

It's the **PC** version of the game, for God's sake!

This is the first Lego game I've ever bought and I saw no indication that there was no mouse support.

How playable is this with just the keyboard, then? I'm not about to go out and buy a controller for just one game...

It may take some getting used to, but it isn't bad, even with the keyboard.

It's not terrible. You'll probably want to rebind the keys though to something you're more comfortable with. That's what I did before I got the controller and while it's not as good as a mouse, it still works fairly well.

Yeah- investment in a USB 360/* controller is HIGHLY reccomended these days- especially with all the great new indie titles on Steam!.. Can't see how a Mouse would even work really with the Lego Games but not tired LotR yet (waiting for a Steam sale!) ENJOY!!

Get a 360 controller, It kinda brings back the retro style gaming when everyone were playing games on consoles

agh I just realized this myself, and im in the same situation as the op :*( so, ya I realize now it needs a gamepad. I have a ps3 controller, would that work? Once a long time ago I tried to get my ps3 controller to work with another the game, the witcher 2, but I could never get it to connect. So, anything I can do to use it?

I installed MotionJoy and got it setup and configured, it is reading the controller properly, I have a virtual controller setup in my system now and everything seems to be working properly... Except the game won't recognize it... What gives? Is a ps3 controller not compatible with the game or something?

Booya! I figured it out yayy! For anyone who wants to know how to use their ps3 controller with this game, you have to download and install motionjoy, its free and legit. Once installed, you need to first load the drivers and once they have loaded you need to configure the pad in your profile section. For more info on setting up motionjoy just google it, there are lots of good tutorials.

However, the thing is, all of them tell you to set the controller as ps3, which ya of course its a ps3 controller... However, Microsoft being the cheap bastards that they are, decided not to implement support for ps3 controller in the game, you know because they want you to use their xbox controllers. Well, the trick is, instead of selecting ps3 controller, select xbox controller instead, then you ps3 controller emulates the xbox controller, and the game will now detect it. So good luck, took me forever to figure that out.
