Defaults to wrong sound output
Lego LOTR does something no other game or application I've tried does: it defaults to my speakers' output on the integrated sound card, instead of the (default) HDMI :(
The demo also did this, and I'd hoped they fixed it, but the bug's still there.

The demo also did this, and the solution seems to be disabling every other sound output, which is rather annoying. I do not want to make changes to my configuration in order to play a game!

I right clicked the volume thingy in the system tray, chose "playback devices", and right click-> disabled everything except the sound output device I needed (in my case, the HDMI) :)

Hello guys. Since I updated my system to Windows 10 Creators Update I am facing this issue. My first try was to disable the another audio devices, but unfortunately it didnt work. I ve already removed the appmanifest_ file in the Steam Library directory and reinstalled the game, but didnt work too. With the another devices disabled, the game simply has no audio =(
I also tried to find some audio configuration into windows Register (Regedit) but I didnt find =(
Does someone has any clue?

I am having this problem also. really annoying. my TV home theater plays the Steam sound perfectly fine including the "big picture" boot music, but soon as Lego Lord of the rings starts up, all sound defaults to my laptop speakers. tried every trick on the book.

What works for me is this...
Go into Intel display settings, multiple displays, then select single display.
Before you press apply, change the single display to your TV.
Hope this helps

I got the same problem and none of the solutions work for me.
I have no chance to get the sound onto my tv.
Any other ideas?
Would be very nice

I got sound working on my TV by going into my device manager and disabling the Realtek audio device.

We used duplicated screens and the game only used the laptop's loudspeakers - changing in to TV only and restarting the game solved the problem.
