Screw that, its a Pc port, the least they can do is make some effort. This game is FIFTY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOLLARS USUALLY
You know one of the really great things about PC's?
Choice of peripheral.
You can have the best force feedback steering wheel for racing games. You can have the most amazing flight stick, throttle controller and rudder pedals for flight sims (even though the market is for the most part dead now). You can even choose what joypad you wish to place in your hands for maximum comfort and lazing around.
Or, you could just be stuck in a mindset that sitting at a desk with a keyboard and mouse is the best control system for every single game you are going to play.
There are situations where keyboard and mouse are essential, I will grant you that. However, some games are designed to allow more freedom of movement than that control system allows. Do you really want to be stuck with 4 axes (the plural of axis, not the things you chop wood with) of movement?
It's your choice.
That said, if you really cannot redefine the keys, that's a shame and something they should have worked on.
I'm also pretty sure that nothing about this game, or your purchase of it stipulated any requirement for you handle any developers genitals.
STOP BEING RATIONAL IT MAKES MY BRAIN HURT
But in all seriousness, thats true, but when you make a PC port, and charge full price, the least they can do is add mouse support. People like me don't have a console and thus dont have a controller and really, its just the very basics.
I wouldn't mind so much if i could get past the prologue but the game being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port AND buggy as hell just tops it.
Are you sure it's bugged? Certain fights require a number of movesets to occur and then you react accordingly. They are not always just hack and slash.
Sauron was all about evading his ranged attacks...mashing the appropriate button when he raises you in the air...more evasion and then when he gets tired, picking him up and flinging him somewhere.
Rinse and repeat 3 times or so and you get a cut scene.
Considering his mace got stuck in the ground, forever, then yeah, im pretty sure its bugged. Couldnt hit him niether. That was after i actually got him to attack at all.

Hope that helps.
I was thinking of Saruman.
In certain parts of lego games.. in the story modes.. you sometimes haveto use the "right" character to complete a task.
~ here's a helpful thing, like Manwith Noname's link above. Only this one has pictures. So... maybe it will help even better.

you know you can buy like an offbrand xbox or playstation controller for like.. $20 or less (on sale) right? You don't need a console to buy a controller on it's own.
i mean you can spend more on them too.. of course... but you can get an adequate one for under $20.
