stuck at the beginning of the game

so, im stuck at sauron at the beginning of the game. he just stands there laughing at me. i can only bring 2 of the characters into the arena close to him. the third one is transparent and unselectable on the player select wheel. ive tried attacking him, attacking my 3rd character (i think its ilsidur?) collecting all the coins. saving the game. theres no hint or anything that i can see and nothing else as far as i know that i can interact with. is this just a glitch or am i missing something?

edit: so apparently i can control another character (up to 2) with my arrow keys, using wasd on the main char. but i never selected local coop, im trying to play single player using a mouse and keyboard. :/ the 3rd char moves within range but then just stands there until i select him. this feels wonky as hell..........

You need to kill some Orcs (NOT the ones running against the army) that carry a banner (they will jump on you at the right side of the screen).

If you are fighting Sauron, you can't actually attack/hurt Sauron. All his health is in his weapon. Just run around him. He will swing at you, and occasionally he will slam his weapon into the ground, and it will be stuck there. When it's stuck hit the weapon a few hits, and a part will break off it, and he will lose 1 Health. Do it 3 times and he get to the spot where you cut off his fingers and grab the ring.

Also if you hit F2 I believe it is (It keeps flashing "Hit F2" or something on the screen), it pops the game into 2 player mode. I accidently hit it as well when I was fighting Sauron the first time as I thought it was a special attack since it was flashing there.
