My eventual solution was to wiggle the joystick a little when jumping between the problem spots so my character landed slightly diagonally on the platform (don't know how better to describe this). That helped me get to the end.
Then I hit the toggle button to change to a morgúl buster and accidentally switched to the other character, causing the first one to fall off. I almost screamed.

Don't jump to the "a"'s, there's an invisible wall. Take an elven for jumping.
my solution was to - when standing on any of those two going left - jump forward, and then immediately turn left, then it snapped properly. I did use an elf, just in case,
works great, wish I seen this sooner
I wish I would have seen this earlier. THIS makes it much easier, but is there a similar trick for the platforms outside bree in the Lake?
For the lake one I just jump spammed (with a high jumper) until I cleared the first plank entirely, landing on the second. Then I jumped straight to the end. Probably an easier way, but it worked for me.
