Merry won't fish!

In Weathertop, when you have to fish a piece in order to lit the bonfire so Sam can cook, Merry keeps running with his fishing rod and doesn't f*cking fish the damn thing. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

What do you mean by running with his fishing rod? Just put Merry onto the pier and a letter will display which button to push (B/K) then just press either (X/H and A/J) three times and there is your fish (plus bonus studs if done correctly).

Yup, I placed him on the pier. And when I tell him to fish, he starts running towards the river (and not falling) and doesn't complete the task, I don't get that press-three-times-to-fish part

Sorry, I don't understand this. Are you using a keyboard or a controller? Unless your controls or keys are different from the above than your character shouldn't be moving.

I'm using a controller and have successfully made Merry fish before. I know how this works. Only in this part he "runs" and I'm not pressing any buttons. Just wanted to know if anyone else had that problem, I'm gonna try to reinstall it and see if that works out

I have the same problem too. He runs on the point and nothing happend, hmpf...

Ok, it is a problem with the Controller. I have used the Keyboard and it works!!!

Same here but the a different place and fishing! Gollum won't fish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk8Ltu6e3E8&feature=youtu.be @ ~8:30 min. I have a Xbox 360 gamepad and a Speedlink Strike gamepad (that emulates another Xbox gamepad via x360ce so the vibration works).

You have to switch on synchronization in game options. Works for me.
