Try editing the local settings file:
C:\Users\#username#\Appdata\Roaming\WarnerBros.InteractiveEntertainment\LEGOTheLordoftheRings\pcconfig.txt
Make sure you have the refresh rate at 60Hz, and you can set your screen resolution and window size here too (same values for both)
Also set your Windows sound to 16Bit44100Hz in:
StartMenu\Settings\System\Sound\DeviceProperties\AdditionalDeviceProperties\Advanced
and use the drop-down menu
Any higher specs tend to cause stuttering, freezes and black-screen with the older Lego games.
It's worth making sure your Video card (NVidia, etc) isn't trying to increase the framerate too in their Settings.
There's also the option to run the game in compatibility mode and as Administrator if you go to Properties in the Library's exe. file for the game.
R-click on the game in your Library\Properties\LocalFiles\BrowseLocalFiles\Scroll down and R-click on the 'exe.' file\Properties\Compatibility
There is a troubleshooter in this section too. It's very basic but it's solved a few Lego start-up problems for me.
Hope something here solves your problem :)
And click. "Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center" And install. Worked for me.
and it fixed my Problem
I copied and pasted that file location and it says it cant find that file location. :/ I have tried everything else, to no avail, it no work. :(
Are you replacing the #username# with your actual username after you paste?
am i replacing it with steamusername?i tried it with and wwithout the # also
You need to use your computer username.
It may be easier if you just open File Explorer and click on the filepath at each stage:
OSC: then pick Users from the list of files, then you will have a couple of choices - usually Default, Public, and your username. That's the one to use. Then follow the rest of the filepath to get to the folder.
Hope this makes sense and is of help :)
%AppData%\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGO The Lord of the Rings
That will bring you to the correct folder where you'll find "pcconfig.txt"
