Can't launch the game anymore.

I have tried to play Lego LOTR and have done so successfully before. Recently it stopped working. I have downloaded the Dll files and directx and nothing worked. I have verified the game files several times and uninstalled to reinstall as well. Does anyone know what is causing this to suddenly break? And how can I fix it? Trying to get 100% completion.

I'm having a similar issue. I just bought the game and I cant play. I've tried everything online and nothing has worked. I keep getting the "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" error. Im on a Windows 11 Surface Pro 9 so i def should be able to play this.

Just purchased key and activated on Steam and also cannot launch game.
Win10 64bit here

The solution was to manually install old directx9 from microsoft page

your error message means that you have an incorrect dll file somwhere that the game tries to execute. i do not know which one it is however. i never had any issues myself.

I never received an error message so I don't know how to help but the comment to reinstall directx9 worked. I guess I was crazy because I thought I had already done that so thank you! 100% completion here I come!

just downloaded it and still doesnt work :( I press play and nothing happens

i downloaded the directx9 and now its just saying application has an error, any suggestions?

i just launched game a day ago to see if local co-op works started booting it today and it just starts but dont display until it kicks me out

And click. "Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center" And install. Worked for me.
