"Mark as destination" issue + local coop issues
Every time I set a map location as my destination in the open world - let's say a character to buy or a brick - that doesn't stick in the map and a path to the currently main quest is drawn instead. Is this intentional? Do I have to complete the main story before being able to set secondary destinations in the map? In all the other LEGO games I played (Marvel, Movie & Hobbit) I was able to set whatever destination even if I had something to do for the main story.

Also, I noticed playing in local coop is hell of a pain. Often the two sides of the screen switch and I suddenly and randomly get to be on the right side and my partner on the left. My partner can't open a map (there isn't even a "map" key in the control configuration) and she often has to drop out because the game doesn't allow me\us to do things if the screen is split (this happened once in Hobbit too, though). Anyone faced the same problems? Any solutions?

That one is a bug that I've had to suffer through to. The only solution I've found is restarting the game.

Thanks for the reply mate.

Which one? Because the first one solved itself when I completed all the main story levels. Now when I set a destination, it remains (since it can be replaced by nothing else).
But the difficulties of my Co-op partner - can't open map, can't set destination, sometimes if she manages to set a destination it's ME the one who moves - well those are still there and they're making LotR a less funny and way more frustrating experience than any other LEGO game we've played....

The co-op one, sorry. And having to reload the game isn't much of a workaround, but it's the only thing that's ever worked for me.

I don't know if this can help you but I found a partial solution to my problem. Basically, I used to start the game with me as P1 using a controller, and then adding my friend as P2 using a keyboard command configuration. Now we do the exact opposite: she starts the game as P1 using the keyboard and then I join the game as P2 with a controller.
We are now both able to mark destinations, fast travel around and using the map.
Only one think: she can't open the map directly yet. No key seems to work and there is no way to map it in the configuration screen. She has to press Esc and then select "Open the map" from the menu.
Hope this helps, at least partially.

We just had to force a shut down because while we were in Bree the keyboard keys suddendly got randomly reassigned (to the extend that we couldn't escape to the menu, because the escape button had been reassigned to tag characters). It was going fine till then, player 1 keyborad, player 2 xbox 360 controller. The funny thing is that suddendly those weirdly reassigned keyboard keys were moving both chosen characters, even in split screen. I could move my character with the controller normally, until the keyboard hit jump, in which case both the keyboard player and the controller player jumped. After a futile search for wherever the escape button had been moved to (and no way to get to the menu with the controller) we simply had to ctrl-alt and force shut.

Anyway, not sure I've explained any of this correctly, but the powers of google have failed me and I found nothing about random key reassignement, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone ever encountered it - or whether we accidentally did something to cause it.
