Black Gate Mithril Brick Agony

[The God Monster Of Indian Flats]

So I'm happily going through trying to collect all the mithril bricks, and there's one near the Black Gate where you have to jump onto wooden poles with small platforms. Noticed the game kind of helps you out, but after the first three, the ones where you go left are not aided at all, or the game just puts a hitbox around it.
Trying the section as Legolas doesn't work, despite jumping ability.. Has anyone actually managed it?!

I have this same issue on the same part. When I have to jump left it's as if an invisible barrier is stopping me. I can jump to the side but that's no help and I've tried every character and I've unlocked them all except the blacksmith so I'm at a loss as to how to get that brick myself. I've tried looking for info on the web but nothing.

You just have to do a "half-jump" on those. It's pretty easy once you get the trick of it down. Took me forever to do that though. Don't use an elf.

Or use Legolas and jump diagonaly.

You are quite nimble in air. Just jump towards the camera (down), to the side of the pole (left) and quickly go to the pole (forward). You kind of have to jump in a U-shape.

Actually found the solution elsewhere, but what 2D is saying is totally right. Finished the game 100% this morning :)

Yeah, it's amazing how much you can defy physics in the air in lego games.

I don't know if it is a bug or intenional but I had the same issue for a while. I eventually used the "half-jump" technique with a regular character and did it.

Best advice ever! Use legolas and skip past the two courner bits!!!

Agreed with the diagonally jumping Legolas. I just finished it. You have to skip BOTH corner posts by jumping diagonally to the one after.
Took no time at all once I did that.

I have the same problem... how can I do a half jump? What is it?? Like hitting the jump button twice?

Agreed. The terrible camera angles don't help either. The game doesn't keep up with your character's movement fast enough and sometimes faces you away from the direction that you need to jump towards

Agreed. The terrible camera angles don't help either. The game doesn't keep up with your character's movement fast enough and sometimes faces you away from the direction that you need to jump towards :twosided:

I was mad at the camera too until i found out that you can actually rotate it
