how is stuttering right now
Hi guys,
I'm thinking about getting GR2 as I'm huge fan of GR1 and PH.
I've played a demo and had some stuttering on my rx6900xt (looked like shader complation stuttering). From what I've read in some posts, issue was present on release too.
How it is now? Still stutters or it's better?

they've pretty much eliminated all stutters since the demo

The stutters are still the same with no status update from the devs.

Run DX11, its a little more stable, DX12 was killing my VRAM and DX11 same settings uses only half of it

Wait or deal with the stuttering. The first game never addressed the issue and it seems they won’t address the issue with this game either.

I haven't got any issue in first game, but I was running it in geforce now, so maybe shaders were compiled by someone else playing before me on same rig

The full game compiles shaders on launch (you 'll see a progress bar).

I finished Ghostrunner 2 on an RX 6600 and DX 11 and, honestly, I had no issues, but I *do* have to turn AMD SAM off from the driver settings, otherwise the game stutters like crazy, so make sure to experiment with this setting.

I only had some FPS drops (not stutters) in very few spots, but otherwise the game looked fine and ran at 60 FPS solidly with no stutters.

I also did not have any stuttering issues with the first game. Stuttering pisses me off too but I guess that some people are more sensitive, I don't know.

Thanks man for the answer. If game compiles them on launch that's half of success.

tip to try turning off SAM, that's something I wouldn't thought about myself. (I think I've heard it has negative impact only in very few games)

This game’s compilation pass does not compile nearly all the necessary shaders.

This game still stutters, period

How many stutters did you get in your playthrough?

It's still stuttering.

Did anyone ever find a fix for this yet? I’m running a 4090 and a 4k 240 hz monitor and it’s still stutters to death ☠️☠️☠️

Nah, played it with stutters and memory leaks.

Faced pretty bad micro-stutters despite top-notch hardware. Tried some old, but proven tricks... and it worked! Mostly. Just make sure to play in "Fullscreen Exclusive Mode" and deactivate ANY overlay, including Steam Overlay. This solved like 90% of the stutter.
And oh, yeah, I'm playing the DX12 version.

this solves ghostrunner 2 problem on amd gpu: Go to settings in the Epic launcher, scroll all the way down and click the game you want, there should be an option for additional command line arguments, select that then just type dx11, I think on steam you can select before the game opens
