Wait that gr with gold and white colors in the end wasn't Jack? I thought it was him after a little time and modding. And if he isnt jack how do we know he is gr-001 spesificlly?
Nope, it's definetly not Jack, if you're talking about announce trailer. We know that jack is GR-74,but Grostrunner in the end is 001, it's written on top of the mask.
If even their "brains" aren't fully organic, there's no reason for anything like human face to be on the outside.
This one is a really interesting question. Shall we compare them?
Kira tells us that the burst was a phenomenon of extreme gamma waves which almost instantly killed nearly all electronic infrastructure on earth. Then shortly after another world war did the rest. Adam aka the architect designed Dharma Tower as a safe haven for humanity, so he must have seen the need for the tower.
1. The first contact theory aka "The aliens did it"
Kinda possible, but we never see any hints of aliens in the game. So yeah, nothing much to say here.
2. The architect theory
My favourite on this list. As it seems Adam owned or at least worked for a company named Samsara, which specialized in asteroid mining. I don't remember another mention of this company. This would at least explain why Adam had the knowledge of an incoming burst.
3. The underground experiment theory aka "the government lies to us"
Very unrealistic because we leave Dharma Tower and explore a little bit of the surrounding. It seems that there isn't any government left or rather even a civilisation outside of the tower. We do not know anything about the rest of the world, maybe Dharma Tower was designed to be a social experiment, but this theory sounds more like a conspiracy myth.
4. Mars used a weapon against earth
If we trust what Kira has to say then Mars is colonized with a human settlement. But the colony was dependent on resources from earth, so it doesn't make much sense to deliberately kill all production mechanisms. Maybe some kind of accident happened, but the rest of the game does not mention any of humans from another planet, so it is hard to speculate on anything really.
Conclusion
The architect theory seems to be the most plausible here. Even if Adam was not the perpetrator, it would be highly interesting what he knew about the burst. I also find it highly interesting that 3 out of 4 theories mention something about space. Maybe we will travel into space in Ghostrunner 3 and find the truth about the burst? If Samsara had something to do with space mining, it is not very far fetched that Dharma Tower has a space shuttle of any kind for Adams escape in case something went wrong.
PS
I also find it highly interesting that very often Ghostrunner makes innuendos on religion. Adam is the first human in the bible, Mara is the buddhistic principle of death and desaster. The Asura are some kind of buddhistic titans or half gods and Samsara is the cycle of existence or rebirth in Buddhism and Hinduism. Hel is the ruler the nordic underworld. Dharma means law, justice or morals in many asian religions. The golem (last fight in the project Hel DLC) is a artificial but lifeless construct in jewish folktales.
