The survey was conducted to get specific feedback to mechanics and points we want to tackle. Sure some questions involve being familiar with the game and the franchise, but that's intended. Beyond Steam we had about 1000 feedback tickets on our Discord that dealt with these topics, so we wanted to be precise about this.
A lot of the critique you mention has already been worked and reworked on, we will soon get into this in detail. :)
I still cant understand how to place a settlement in the demo. but i will say I like the detail of being able to leave the vehicle on foot to investigate a structure. Im looking forward to the game.
I will say some of the player face icons dont look at nice as the other faces displayed in game. Just figured that would be improved. and the voice over sounds funny in some places... anyway thanks for the reply. hope ur game does well. ill be watching for it. its on my wish list https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/profiles/76561199334436882/#sort=order
You find one of the green spaces and establish a settlement with one click.
I need to see a video demonstration .
you can see a rework of this behaviour in our devlog :)
I actually had the identical issue which is why I am commenting here!
Thanks for linking the devlog! I read it and understand a little better, however I think an explanation IN the tutorial would be super helpful? A popup saying "You've found a great place! Now you need to place your town center. Choose a place that meets ___ and __ requirements."
I also am very particular about where I place the town center in other games, I like to be sure it will be advantageous and easy to build around. Being forced to put it on the edge of a plateau I can't access seems strange? If there is a reason for it, can it be explained in the tutorial? I'm sure this all seems obvious since you're involved in the game but as someone who played the first Endzone and was excited to play Endzone 2, I am quite confused haha.
I was confused and frustrated enough to search google, then reddit, then the game discussion forum. I'm just one person so I understand not changing it just because of me but the first Endzone had a solid tutorial and I'd love to see this one have a strong tutorial too. :> Hope you don't mind the feedback!
Thanks so much for the hard work and I'm looking forward to the rest of the game!
That may be included earlier in the tutorial but having it show up as we reach that point would be super helpful. :) Thank you!
So, you're playing the Tutorial from the latest 9203 patch version?
(And not playing the Survival modes? Which also can have the help text enabled in the difficulty settings, by the way.)
... and not aware that you have to move the vehicle to a zone's plateau area? If the vehicle is selected, the Access Point's placement is 'suggested' based on the proximity to the Pathfinder. If you don't like that spot, move the Pathfinder to relocate the Access Point.
Ah, sorry to bring up an old thread but they mentioned my exact issue I had so I wanted to comment since it hasn't changed much since the demo. If it's still causing an issue for some players is it so bad to comment again?
Yes, this is the fully updated early access game. Yes, I like for my first game to be the tutorial so I can understand the basics of the game. I tend to play through it until I have a solid understanding of the game and then start a fresh game to play more seriously. The tutorial is an option to play, if it's the same as survival mode then why is it offered separately? Not sure what you mean, are you saying the tutorial isn't good?
I had moved the Pathfinder to the plateau as directed but the suggestions don't explain why we can't drive up on the plateau even though the art looks as though we should be able to.
It wasn't explaining the intentions once you reach the marked area, just kind of lets you roam around confused with no help queues or direction. I thought I was placing the town center and as I said before I wasn't understanding why I couldn't place it more strategically. From a UX perspective, these types of user stalls and hiccups are good talk about while a game is in early access. :)
It's been a bit so I did eventually figure it out after reading the documents posted here (hence my comment thanking them) thank you for the information and suggestion though!
Completely agree with you on this one, it feels a bit fidgety right now.
