Because there is always something interesting to loot
In any case, I always deal with them by aggroing 1-3 goblins that are closest to me and just going backwards while killing them and repeating the process with the next pack of mobs... More often than not, I even manage to get the bosses to come to me one at a time and without small goblins.
To do this, it is useful to visualize your threat level in the form of a circular radius with your character in the center in which mobs start seeng and trying to get to you. And if the threat level is too high, it may make sense to remove a piece of armor to lure only the closest enemies.
Also, if you play alone(Or no one at the party wants to play an archer), it makes sense to keep a bow of any rarity with you just to aggro specific enemies from a distance.
