Pros:
Extreme survivability
Frees one inventory slot
AOE damage
Nice DOT
Great overall damage
Cons:
Weak in the early game
You are forced to waste three talent points on the useless especially if you are playing solo talent before being able to take the healing spell
AOE damage is pretty inconsistent
There's no enemy that has ranged attacks so you can easily kite them, and since hitting a enemy with a ranged attack doesn't aggro nearby enemies you can pick them off one by one.
Axes are consistently good early middle late game
bows are overpowered if your have all the right gear and you bow is up to date, which is easier said then done
rapiers and daggers suck early game but late game they can be overpowered rapiers especially when you over leveled the speed buff and your thrust ability are crazy enough but when ignore the rest of the tree and waste a point to access lucky strikes and spend a couple more to go up the center the damage is insane, ever kill a scorpion on hard mode faster than it can get off an attack, not to mention it still kind of works with regular swords if you fail to find a decent rapier. there is kind of no reason to use daggers, less range, less damage, not as good as rapier all around, the extra mobility and weird debuffs can make it useful for teams, but solo you might as well cross it off the list, there is no point to it. Torch is kind of the same way. your know whats better than healing damage, never taking it in the first place because you melt your enemies before they attack. Late late game rapier and bows only option.
Currently I´m using Ancient Twinbow (50%chance to shoot 2 arrows) and it´s AMAZING ! with perks on max it deals crazy damage, and shoots really fast.
Then I love to use daggers, because attack speed and fast movement :D
i mean, using the spell transforms the weapon into an eternal sword, or does it reappear as a hammer in the next floor?
