How do people plan their farms out?
This is a struggle I've always had with games like this. Since I can't see the entire plot at once, it's difficult for me to plan out where I want planting, trees, animals and decor to go. Are there any special tricks to bringing your farm together in a cohesive manner?

you're not going to get it "perfect" on the first try. you'll have to play for a while to get an idea of how much space you want to commit to each thing.

what i like to do in this sort of game is wing it in year 1, then tear everything down and rebuild with a proper plan before year 2 starts. (although mistria has winter crops which complicates that a bit.)

in any case, if you want to visualize your farm layout before you begin, just open up mspaint and draw out your concept first.

ignore farming embrace foraging. put no clothes on your character and leave piles of crap all over your acreage. mistria won't mind it definitely won't drag down the land value. be like linus, who lives in a tent and likes garbage, so also live in garbage and love the garbage.

i actually didn’t start doing anything with my farm until Year 2. i hoarded all the mats and money i could get my hands on in order to buy/craft customization stuff in bulk (between mines, trees, etc. i’d collect bugs/fish/artifacts every day & then go to the furniture store on Saturdays and splurge the blueprint thingies)

as for actually planning it out… i started somewhere and did something small and expanded upon that, then redid it basically.

like the other user said, mspainting a plan is likely easier, but i’ve just been winging it. despite all the hoarding i’ve only been able to fill out maybe 1/4th of the farm layout. time moves so fast in this game i feel like i haven’t gotten anywhere customization-wise lol.

Plan? is that a joke? I just adjust as i go, can't imagine i would have any fun, if i planned ahead, and made a spread sheet, would seem too much like work.
