Running Very Slow Since Latest Update

The game seems different since the latest patch. It lumbers terribly in some outdoor areas especially my farm. Are too many weeds causing a memory crash? It runs just as slow during sunny days at it usually lumbers during rain.

I'm going to second this. My game is running about 30-40fps as I move around and even when I am paused with my inventory open, and drops down to the 20-30s when I transition between map areas. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and while sitting still will occasionally brought the game up to speed in a few areas (the edge of town and the narrows that I noted), on my farm the game is really lagging. My character moves in slow motion and so do the npcs around town. If I leave an area and come back the game slows down again. It ran just fine (pretty consistent 60 fps) when I played prior to the latest update.

I've definitely noticed frame drops during the Friday meet-up and Saturday market, when I didn't have that before.

I just started playing so don't know what it was like before the update, but my character's walking speed is so slow that it's frustrating to the point of being almost unplayable.

Same for me, it's almost unplayable because when I enter a new area the game slows down so much. It's okay after a while but when I move to another area it slows down again

same issue here, lags terribly to the point where it become unplayable at times. during the saturday market, it almost always freezes/crashes, same issue when i went to the inn on friday.

I haven't had any crashes, but I regularly have the game run incredibly slow on the larger maps, especially if it's raining. Occasionally the game will full-on freeze for 5 or so seconds before catching up.

Agreed but its mostly my character's running thats slowing down, like shes slogging through mud or something. Kind of annoying.

The updates never mattered for me; my game drops many frames regardless. I could be in an area with no other characters and frames drop, where they hadn't before. I could be in an area where I once experienced enormous amounts of lag and be completely fine, but a smooth non-laggy experience for me is a rare occurrence. I know it can't be my computer because it runs games like Neir Automata just fine.

The only thing I have to look forward to is that compared to the demo where things were moving at a literal 5-10 frames a second (aka so slow it took me 2 hours to watch the opening scenes) is that now it moves at closer to 15.

If there's a fix I'd be really grateful, if not perhaps I should hold off until the potential console release/ when it is out of early access.

When i started playing i had good fps, no complaining but slowly as i continued play it started dropping. First when it was raining, then on days when there was lot of leafs on air (makes sense, lot of particles) but then it have started to do that when i run around on my farm on sunny day. I tried lowering specs but nothing helped. This game goes back of my library for now to wait untill maybe this gets fixed? Hope it doesnt take long.

I ran into the same issue. For me it kind of runs better inside of buildings, but any exterior map is super slow. I don't know whether to continue playing or wait for a possible fix, since it kinda ruins the experience.

I've also been experiencing this, noticed it started happening shortly after upgrading the general store in summer. I tried closing and reopening the game and that helped weirdly enough!! so I'm wondering if it has to do with having the game open for too long ??

Same here, it's unplayable. I even started a new save thinking that the items I had stored in chests might be causing the lag, but the lag is still just as bad in the new save.
