Grass starters

How do you plant them? I've tried with tilled soil and untilled. Can't figure it out.

Do you have an actual grass starter or just sod? You can craft the grass starter with materials (I don't recall which ones offhand) at the mill and then you can plant it on non-tilled areas.

I just spam clicked the ground, no need to till it. Oddly does not work for controllers hence the click spam. And plant it AS far from the animals so it'll grow. Or be lazy like me and keep them in for a week while the grass grows slowly, yet fast everywhere else i did not plant.

You use them on grass rather than soil. Use your shovel to change the soil to grass, then place the starter.

I figured it out. I had to use the T key for some reason
