In-game map directions on controller?
Is anyone else having trouble with this and is there any way I can resolve it?

I really like the game, but the map directions on the D-pad are erratic and I can't make sense of it. I'm using a USB Xbox controller but I also have a cheap bluetooth Switch type controller and they both do the same thing, so it can't be both controllers.

Do I need to use something different? Someone help as this is very frustrating.

So if you are in one map and press the ''right direction'' button, it will jump to the map that is in the ''right direction'' (in-game) from the current map you are in, not the one that is on the right in the list order (in the menu). That is why it looks like it jumps erratically at first glance when you switch between maps in the menu. To make it easier, look at the arrows on the map and press the buttons in that direction to switch from map to map. It's definitely something they can improve on (and they take feedback on their website if you want to let them know) but I hope this helps!

It took me a few tries to get it right. I kept getting some blank inputs after mapping but after quite a few tries got it mapped the way I wanted. So I think maybe it's just a little buggy. I'm on xbox controller as well, a wired one.

It's been a bit but It's something like select the one you want to change, then click what button you want it to be, then you have to click it again to confirm. If you don't click again to confirm it seemed like it would make it blank instead of just canceling.

This is helpful as I was also wondering about this, but I should have been clearer in my opening post. I meant the in-game map, the directions don't follow the d-pad.

Oh. :pumpkincat: I don't use the D pad for menus or the map. I actually mapped the throw key to the down on d-pad because I don't like to use the d-pad so I no longer toss stuff accidentally.

Maybe I could use controller mapping for the in-game map. I'm fairly new to Steam, so not sure how I do this. What do you use for your in-game map?
