Chicken and Cows in Winter

I am a few days away from my first winter and I have a question for anyone with barn animals. Do you have to keep them indoors during winter? Or is it safe to bring them out when it's not snowing/raining? Thank you.

Yes it's good to bring them out in the winter too, just let them indoors if snow falls

I haven't tried bringing them out during rain/snow days but they do seem fine being outside during winter. They don't seem to hate me afterwards lol. Also, since there's no medicine for them in the game I don't think animals can get sick.
