is there a way to hack in items or just add them to museum?

I just got the last sunken treasure and the last fall fish just for the game to crash as I went to sleep and it didn't save. The fish aren't really a big deal but I've been checking dive spots for hours the past couple of days and i'm not in the mood to do it again.

Yeah but it's pretty involved. There's a tool made by the devs called "vaultc" that can decrypt your save files into jsons, and those jsons contain plaintext that you can edit. There's some formatting stuff you need to follow to add items into your inventory, but it's certainly possible. You can also re-encrypt those edited jsons back into a save file that the game can use.
