Part of that is my own fault, because I keep getting side-tempted by limited-time stuff from travelling merchants, but also I just don't seem to have figured out what the good crops to grow and sell are.
Oh well. I'll get there eventually. Thank goodness there isn't really a time pressure. :P
the "every 3 days" crops are the best i think. spring's okay, summer is my favorite because i make bank cooking grilled corn/brewing green tea, at the end of fall i mass produce bread w/ the wheat i harvest and gain 30-40k with that and rice, etc. it's definitely not a min-max strategy but the things in this game aren't so wildly expensive that you need a solid income anyway.
crops aren't my favorite thing to take care of so they're only 6x9 plots. most of my time is spent hoarding mats from the mines & the overworld, etc. keep in mind i didn't start actually farming til Y2 and i'm just now reaching winter, so there's probably a better strategy but meh
