The lag is unbelievable.
As the title says, this level of lag is practically grotesque. It needs to be fixed. As it stands, the game is unplayable because while the visuals lag and the movement and action speed is bugged, the game clock somehow is not, so the day goes by two or three times as fast as it should.

I'm curious, would you like to share what operating system you are using? There seems to be two kinds of FoM player: Those that experience a lot of lags and crashes and those that barely get any of that.

it's windows? I haven't crashed at all, but sometimes the game will run like a potato in high heels until i quit and resetart, open menu, or change area. Which one is needed occasionally changes.

Adding to this feedback post for the devs. Love this game and I am fortunately not experiencing severe lag on either my PC or laptop (which I use to HDMI to my TV in the bedroom for cozy farming sim time). But I do get occasional stutters where the game will freeze while I'm walking or just going about my day and the game has twice crashed. It seems as though the game could use some performance optimizing for sure. I'm at the point where if I make major progress by getting a legendary artifact I exit the game entirely so steam can save my progress to the cloud because I don't want to lose the day.

Device Specifications for reference:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900K 3.20 GHz
Installed RAM 128 GB (128 GB usable)
Graphics Card MSI GAMING X TRIO GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 23H2

Interesting. I get the feeling that people with enough ram only experience the occasional stutter. I think this game may have a memory leak issue. I have 64GB RAM available and only get the occasional stutter.

I experienced stutters for a bit and then they just went away, I do have 32 GB of ram tho. I have yet to ever experience a crash however. I wonder if the game isn't playing nice with specific components though since my laptop is def on the more mid tier side and a bit older? I am also running on windows 11 too tho. Something for the devs to look into for sure.

I have 16GB of ram and get no lag or stutter, though I am getting intermittent sound issues the longer I play.

I usually get a FPS reduction when i alt+tab and return. Goes from the usual 60 FPS to 30 FPS. Idk if this has to do something with your problem, but if this happens, you can try going from fullscreen to window mode and vice versa, it will fix it
HYPERiON.exe Dec 7, 2024 @ 6:13pm
i haven't had any problems with lag or crashing up until the major update, so maybe there are some issues there? hopefully if there's something going on on the devs' end they're able to fix it.

I was wondering the same thing - I had no issues with visual lag until the major update, and now it borderline gives me motion sickness with how dramatic the lag can get. I was honestly debating if uninstalling and reinstalling might fix the issue?

I don't think so. I just downloaded it for the first time. Sometimes you just gotta open and close the game. Though mostly I find that opening/closing the menu works too
