Insect spawn rate?

Is it just me or is the spawn rate for insects in the overworld like, ridiculously low? Finding the legendary ones is going to be a nightmare if for the entire Eastern Road, only 2 insects spawn at a time. It took me like 12 resets to get the luna moth because there were only 3 spawning on my farm at a time despite all the free space. This seems really unbalanced versus the 5-15 fish spawning in any body of water at any time.

I heard a "trick" about the Luna Moth but I need to check. Some people use the Narrows and save at some point at 10pm and just keep going back and forth and then repeating, as it is a somewhat simpler and shorter map.
There is also a perk that increases the frequency of spawning a rare insect but the spawning rate of everything can be...weird. And downright annoying.

Fortunately I've already gotten the Luna Moth but I thought I'd look for a lightning dragonfly and uhhhh wow. RNG nightmare, geez.

There is no need for you to go through all that “save your game, reload” thing. All you have to do is leave the zone and then go back into the zone so it resets the bugs.

I just found a Luna Moth. Y1 Spring, 11:40pm. I found it in the Sweetwater Farm area above the statue. I was going back and forth between my farm and to the entrance of the mines. Was running back up toward the narrows and it was boppin about above the statue area lol It says windy day on the wiki but it doesn’t HAVE to be windy.
