Everyone will disagree with me but:
I really don't like how the women are drawn - can you please make them with appropriate outfits : ( It would be better if this were more approachable of a game for all ages. Its okay if everyone hates me for saying it but really the same thing that ruins anime - I don't want it to ruin a great game here too. Anime does that all the time, ruining a great story by encouraging the objectification of women, they don't need to have their chests all out to be pretty and well designed characters, the characters are cute and don't need to be drawn like that with that kind of outfit. :steamsad:

I don't see any objectification in this game, watch less porn

The outfits are fine. It fits the 90s aesthetic.

If you don't like how they're drawn, this might not be the game for you. Or you can learn modding and design them as you want~

Are you talking about Juniper? Because she is the only one that I can see that is applicable to your comments. Even so, I dont see any thing wrong with her design at all. I also took a look at the other female characters on the wiki and I don't see anything problematic with them either.

While I see your point that some people may not like some of the character portraits (juniper particularly) I find the majority of the female portraits to be fine. showing a bit of skin in the summer is normal (it's hot weather)

I think this is ragebait lol but whatever

This would have merit if all of the girlies dressed provocatively but it's literally just Juniper. All of them dress to fit their personalities. Having big boobs doesn't inherently make a woman a sexual object btw, I suggest some self-reflection on what you view as objectification and why.

"Everyone will disagree with my totally subjective opinion, but I would also like Olric to be a romanceable character despite being a walking stereotype of dumb jacked guys with his chest showing in every profile picture, but that's not why I like him, which is completely different than you guys objectifying women."
Some hot take...
Usually people complain that NPCs are to boring and bland and need better clothing in a different ways - and then make mods that border on NSFW (or not even border).
First time I see someone wants to put a hijab on each and every one of them.
btw, there is a hijab in a player customization options - if it's your stile...

Portrait styles or artstyle in general are almost "hard-codded" for games like these. It's clear that the devs go for a specific style and their presentation is very concise and clear. I highly doubt it will change much(maybe color adjustments). I honestly don't think you can find a happy balance here OP, because artstyle is a major selling point with games and especially these games.

Juniper is the only one who dresses sexily, but it suits her character. Reina is more on the sturdier site of body weight. Makes also sense that her breast are bigger. Still her body is proportionate, so I don't see anything off about her design or the way she dresses. Also in summer it makes sense to dress less. It's hot. While I'm not the target group for the bachelorets I think their style fit their design.

Saying "don't like it, don't play" is not helpful in nearly all cases, but this probably one of the few times were it's valid to say "this game may not be for you if a core element bugs you this much".

I guess you'll have to wait for mods for your issue.

And here comes the racist..the op doesn't even say anything abt hijab..the fact you went there straightaway really says a lot abt you...

Just fund or create the mod for it. Don't use your delicate sensibilities to ruin it for the rest of us bro

I'd prefer if the game continued to aim at a higher age range, not every game needs to be for little kids.

As far as the clothing, there is nothing inappropriate? Its all very chill relaxed and cute styles. The witch has maybe the riskiest outfits and they're a nod to the usual classic anime witches. I love the art style, its very well done and polished, I dont think it really needs any altering. Maybe someone will make a mod to cover everyone in sheets or something so you dont need to see a little cleavage.

First, I don't see what's so racist about hijab - it's a cultural norm in many cultures, and has nothing to do with race.
Second, as a cultural norm and an expression of faith it's normal - when woman has a choice to wear or not that head covering, which now is pretty much equals to a scarf more often than not. But - historically it wasn't an option (and in many places still isn't), and woman who didn't cover her face (not just the hair!) would be prosecuted (and often - put to death, and very gruesome too). And that was a part of controlling and objectifying women, btw.
So... sorry if in "let's cover them!" cry I see not a modesty - but that same urge to control and objectify.
And third - you don't know me, so please, don't judge and point fingers. I came long way from "young girl shouldn't wear skirts that have knees open" and "women shouldn't wear pants except when exercising (and only it's a requirement in school... yes, my family was vey strict and conservative) to "I bloody hell will wear what I want and in any way I want it, and it's your problem if you don't like it or take it as something suggestive".

ok, I just checked - game is not rated so far.
But - it's on Steam. And by rules - you have to be 13 y.o. or over to make a Steam account. And that's teens already. I don't see any problem with any of the game content (so far) being (in)appropriate for teens. And if parents let their kids use Steam and play games without consideration - and not just of official ratings - it's on parents.
For comparison - SDV rated E10+ officially, but some say it should be 13+ (because - having kids, and some heavy themes that game toughes).
And yes - I agree that not everything has to be accessible or aimed at kids... But somehow I got a feeling that that wasn't exactly a problem that OP is having...
