Multiplayer?

Is there any plans for a multiplayer or allow people to mod it? I wanna buy it but if I get to play it with a friend that would be really good

nothing on the official roadmap. Is the game still worth it, definitely, but should wait til its out of early access else you'll be disappointed like when a good movie ends abruptly without closure.
