Ingredient or Garbage? We need an indication.
So it seems some fish and clams etc are useful as ingredients, as well as flowers (I've yet to find a use for flowers other than furniture)
Up near the museum icon it would be nice to see some other symbols indicating if it is worth keeping as an ingredient to something or if its just to sell.

Maybe like a little hammer for crafting and a pot or whisk for cooking or something. Just some indication... I am a item hoarder and I am struggling!

Same. Considering there are so many fishes and etc in the game, knowing which are salable -or possible gifts- or something craft-able would help. It is a little jarring knowing some items tells you right away it can be used in a dish or something but some items u just GOTTA KNOW. :UnderPartySad:

At the very least, the icon should pop up if you have already discovered a recipe for it. I'd rather not be told in advance that there is a hidden recipe, to maintain some sense of discovery, but if I already do know a recipe....

Yeah, absolutely.

I dunno about gifting, though. It would have to be the same concept where a little present-box appears only if you have that tick in your journal that lists the item as a favored gift for someone.

Although I don't know how well that could be coded for the check-boxes only to appear conditionally... I'd rather leave them as-is if it's too much to be coded. There needs to be some sense of discovery, still.

I just keep the stuff that says "used in cooking/crafting".

I was doing that too then realized some fish and clams can be cooked and they dont indicate it in a description.
