I understand the popularity of Olric, so it'll be interesting to see what the dev team does for him, especially since he falls into the "dumb as rocks" himbo category that so many enjoy. Dialogue does suggest he's got a thing for one of the Saturday Market vendors which might be why he isn't on the roster.
It definitely feels like either he'll be added due to fan popularity or that he'll be written in a way that openly suggests he isn't interested in a relationship.
Maybe a modding angel will finesse the game into romancing Olric. One can only hope.
The characters aren't diverse and fall into a small handful stereotypes. You also haven't made a game so ??? There is a difference between queer-friendly and queer-only. Let’s not pretend that 95% of the population is bi or gay.
Olric isn't real and can be changed at any time, the game is in EA. I'm simply telling the devs I will not be buying the game unless we get a normal, hetero, well adjusted looking man in the game. I'm happy for u, and that you can date a purple/blue/white/pink/red whatever, I would just like 1 normal looking character. Olric also looks like my husband so I will die on this hill.
I'm not saying that to be a mood killer, but it's simply on the grounds that these kind of games make every romanceable bisexual (or playersexual) in order to cover their basis. SunnySide actually does this really, really well by having characters with their personal preferences. I hope more games pick this up in the future, but until then, you're unlikely to find a heterosexual man.
I don't have a problem with you wanting Olric romanceable, my issue is with how you stated it, by immasculating every other male character, and implying that 'fat' characters aren't worth your attention. They may be fictional, but you insult anyone who relates to them by saying that. Just like if I claimed Olric was ugly, you probably wouldn't appreciate that since he looks like your husband.
And if you want to nit pick and completely miss my point, no I haven't made a game, I'll reword.
If I put my heart into anything, and someone came along with insulting, unconstructive criticism and an ultimatum to change it or they won't buy it, I would not want their money, because they clearly do not respect the work I put into it.
And sure, these characters may fall into tropes, but that doesn't make them lack diversity. What I meant from diversity was in their depth of character.
So to summarize, your message and follow up message came across rude, and unconstructive. A simple 'Id like if Olric was romancable, I like manlier men' would of gotten your point across without feeling like your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the creators character creation.
This is hilarious. You calling the other one 'rude' when you yourself feels entitle to call 'your game' as if you actually programed any part of it.
Talk about lack of self-awareness.
I hope he marries another male character just to spite you, dear.
Oh darling. If you think THAT is a insult, you should avoid the 'polygamy' post and 'rival marriage' post too.
No. This is not a insult. This is people having diferent values. If the devs made good choices on making the game will catch many more fish in the net than those with that kind of values. That's what diferentiates games that make success to games that don't. It's literally all about the 'net reach' of their game and Fields of Mistria do a great job with their net of 'stardew valley with salor moon astetics' or something that was publicited in articles. They will live even if some fish fall of between the ropes
There will only be a problem if they make some kind of change that upset the majority of their players and they start behaving like the fish on end ending of Finding Nemo. That's when the boat sinks
And yet that's what you feel entitle to call it for yourself while insulting others for rudeness.
You literally complained about the HOW the other one complained when you yourself is not abiding to the same concept of HOW you are complaining about THEM.
So, yeah. Look yourself in the mirror before start insulting others. We are not higher just because we have diferent concepts and values. Unless you are okay being a hypocrite. Then I'd say go ahead and keep going. I'll just keep on reading your posts because I love seeing them. They are very funny.
