"Missing game executable" error. Tried every fix, no luck.

Getting the "missing game executable" error message upon trying to launch Fields of Mistria.
I was adding mods and upon installing one, the game no longer launches.
I have tried all the fixes I can find (uninstalling, verifying integrity of files, disabling firewall temporarily, deleting all local files, disabling steam cloud, all mods deleted).
Does anyone have any other methods I can try?

im currently having this same issue. I have tried everything to resolve this and still will not open. beyond frustrating purchasing a game and cant even play.

Do you have aurie in your mod folder?

Do you have aurie in your mod folder?

I no longer have any mod folder as a removed it so I can't say.

I know of a problem that gives this kind of error but it's related to the aurie framework. If you have your game with a fresh install, maybe you can try disabling your antivirus (or windows defender) if you any antivirus besides the windows defender.

Hi ... I know this thread is months old, but I finally found the solution and wanted to drop it here for anyone else who might need this in the future:

- Make sure you've still got both MOMI and your mods folder (with any previously-installed mods)--so take them back out of your Recycling Bin if needed.
- Open MOMI
- Select all previously-installed mods, then hit "Uninstall All" and verify the same way you did during installation.
- You're free to delete all of it again after this. Try running the game, and it should work good as new.

TLDR: You have to manually uninstall all mods previously installed through MOMI before wiping them. Straight file deletion without doing this will result in OP's error.

Not sure why you have to do this, but virtually nothing else will work. I hope this helps someone in the future as it did for me. ^^
