HELP Just broke my chest, how do you drop (not delete items)

I broke my chest because I am so smart, but the chest did not end up in my tiny inventory. I don't want to have to trash everything/sell. Is there a way to drop items??? Please help

Lol in my sense of panic I was not thinking (Was thinking in Stardew Valley sell box). I put everything in the sell box until I got the chest. Then went back, and took out the stuff I don't want to sell. Slay moment right there.

You can drop items by pressing the G key

Well, you figured it out.
But also for the future - you can press G, that will throw selected item (or stack of them) on the ground.
Also as items don't despawn for quite a long time (several days confirmed, I didn't try to log out and back in though) - you can just leave them somewhere and come back to pick it up later.
