shipping bins

As my friend and I have been playing, one of the slight annoyances (especially early on with limited bag space) has been running back and forth to the farm to sell items. It would be really cool to have some limited space to place items outside of the farm (like shipping bins) or, as some other posters have mentioned, to be able to sell items to the general store/balor/josephine/other merchants. Just a qol thing I would love to see

I know you can buy shipping bins at the grocery, have you tried putting them up in places other than the farm? I haven't so idk but it's worth trying.

You can't place them anywhere other than the farm that I've found. The same applies to chests. It's been a little frustrating given the sheer amount of stuff you can collect and how little inventory space you have access to.

Just drop your stuff on the floor, it never disappears (except for in the mines). That's what I did early game

Bummer. Hopefully they'll address this in future updates. When I run out of inventory space I still collect everything on my way to my farm to unload, including fishing and bug catching, and then go back for those items later. They'll all still be sitting on the ground waiting even if you have to go back the next day.

I tried to drag my item out of my bag and it's not working. How are you dropping something already in your inventory?

in stardew valley you can sell directly to shop instead of only shipping bins, why cant you do the same here?

So what's the purpose of being able to purchase/make additional shipping bins if they cannot be placed outside the farm? The farm isn't big enough to require additional bins. Yet, being able to place bins around, like at the museum or beach, or near the carpenter shop would be extremely useful.

The main use case is probably for selling more things at once. A shipping bin has limited room so if you plan to sell a lot of unique items at once you might need an additional bin. That’s pretty niche though, especially with bins in each barn and coop.

Personally I have another bin by the entrance to Hayden’s farm. That way if I fish at the beach I can drop them off there and then go through sweetwater farm to get to the narrows.
