Possible Birthday Issues?

I set my birthday to Spring 17, since IRL my birthday is March 17th. When I started the game, I started entirely blind so I didn't know that there was a festival on the same day.
Does nothing actually happen on your birthday, or did I screw myself over by essentially having overlapping occurrences, with the game generated one obviously taking priority?
I know in a lot of games, your birthday means nothing, but with how much this game seems to improve on the areas that most similar games are lacking, I kinda expected something to happen, even just a letter in the mail if anything.
I know its still Early Access, so maybe this will be fixed if I did screw myself or if this is a just bug, or changed/improved later on if your birthday is currently just meaningless in this game as it is in almost* every other game.

*Almost, with Animal Crossing being the exception. More games really need to get on AC's level & throw us a dang party & give us gift, otherwise what's the point in even asking for our birthday.

According to another thread you get a gift from someone if you get their heart to green first.

It does seem like at least one older person should give you birthday greetings or something as being nice to the new person in town. In a small town that would happen.

Ah, okay. I don't believe I have high enough friendship with anyone yet then.
Kinda disappointing that's all there is to it. Was really hoping for at least something like a special dialog when you talked to someone, or maybe if you go to the inn you could get a cake. Anything other than... Next to nothing.

Hah, I did the same thing and have the same birthday. I also hope either picking birthdays in the future shows the holiday dates, or birthdays do more and can still be the same day as something else.

on my birthday i got no special dialogue when interacting with people, but i did get gifts in the mail (i do not have my bday on a festival or other special day)
