Game Won't Start - Help!

Just as the title says, my game won't start at all! A Fields of Mistria window pops up with a white screen, and an error message window that reads:

Win32 function failed: HRESULT: 0x8876017c
Call: at line 2021 in file \Graphics_DisplayM.cpp

I've doubled checked that my laptop meets the system requirements, set it to run using my NVIDIA graphics card (as opposed to my integrated one), restarted my computer, ran the game as an administrator, and it still has the same issue. I looked up the error code in the discussions here and I saw *some* people having the same issue, but it didn't seem to be resolved. Any help is appreciated!

Would you mind trying to manually deleting your game folder? I'm not talking about doing it via Steam. I'm talking about deleting the folder and then reinstalling the game again.

Your save files are located under appdata. So they are safe.

I just tried that, even emptied my recycling bin after just to be sure. Still getting the same error message! Also I have no save files, the game has never started for me! LOL

What GPU you have, this error appear for ppl who can't make work Direct X 11 properly. About integrated card, are you fully disable it right ?

I have NVIDIA GeForce 940MX! Also, I checked and apparently the version of Direct X I have is 12, not 11. Does that matter?

And I actually was able to get it to open for the first time by completely disabling the integrated card! But now the audio of the game is really crackly?

At least I can run the game now though, thank you!!

Hmm it's looks like game use integrated ppl GPU unstead normal one.You can also doing some manipulations with nvidia panel. Like parameters of 3D, choose fields of mistira app, and do this changes , Cuda processors all and choose GeForce 940MX!, rendering of OPEN GL > GeForce 940MX!, power mode - maximum power.

About fixing this problem, as far i'm read about this game problem. It's a 2 sided problem, one of dev side ( bcs they need to rewrite game code a little and make him use properly integrated or usual one ) and ppl side - integrated card. But i thinks it's take to much time ( or if the dev unexperienced it's can cut off all of you who have integrated card !
