Woodworking EXP Balancing
I Just tried out woodworking, and was disappointed to find out that the bed, which requires a sizable amount of materials to craft grants about as much crafting EXP as a wooden fence. A wooden fence, which only requires 2 wood. This is counter-intuitive, and means that to get a lot of EXP, all I have to do is craft a dozen wooden fences, which means you're disincentivized to craft anything else. Granted, I only just got into this mechanic, so maybe EXP gain for later items is better, but this doesn't give me a good first impression of it.

Could be worng on my end, but when I leveled up my WW skills higher level item always yielded better results. Cooking was the same, I think.

I don't doubt high level crafts give more EXP (I imagine you can't be crafting wooden fences forever). My problem is material cost/EXP ratio. Bed is more costly resource-wise but doesn't reward the player much EXP.

I think if woodworking was simplified to "crafting" and also gained exp from using the mill for flour/rice then the tiny amounts of xp gained through each action would be better. As it stands I had to craft a lot of pointless items for xp and sell them. Hopefully as the game grows the things we can craft and the xp given will be better balanced, but for now fences are kind of the best way to level up. especially stone fences when you get that recipe because the mines always give me tons of stone.

I think it's balanced for crafting a ton of fencing. It helps if you fence off your crops so your animals don't graze on them, but I agree that in order to make what I want, it requires a ton of woodworking experience.

And as someone that doesn't like to use fencing, I have only barely risen my woodcrafting up to five while the rest of my skills are within the 15-30 range.
