Coral and Crystal

Is there any way to collect coral and crystal faster? I smashed every coral I could find, and I reached the next are with only 1. I've gone back for 2 days now, only going after coral, and now I have a total of 3. I did not see them for sale at the cart, but maybe someone else has? It seems like it is rarer than it was meant to be, since one of the cosmetic craftables requires 10 and a quest needs 5.
