Good to know. I do use controller though so a button to click would be better.
Yep, in Stardew it has this option. Lets say I already have a tomato in my crate but i have 7 in my inventory, however the crate is full and youre spending a few more seconds trying to find the tomato to put your 7 into when all it needs is a transfer button.
I forgot to mention!!! When my bag is full is will not allow me to throw items out of it, instead it makes me delete it which is rather annoying. I could have a scroll I wish to pick up but i would need to bin possibly a really important item to get that said scroll... these are tiny things but can make a huge impact.
Hmm, I've had the opposite. I've tried to delete like logs or other things when my backpack is full and I can't trash it, only throw it or sometimes trash something else. It's not like they are high value items they wouldn't want you to trash. But it will let me trash more high value things. I don't know why it happens but it does seem to be tied to inventory being full because that's the only time I want to delete things.
That is so bizarre! It allows me to pretty much put anything in the trash, hopefully this will be fixed/added. Its early to say what the outcome will be of this game but i am really enjoying it!
Oh! You can do this actually! I think it's the G button on the keyboard! Hold the item, press G, and your character will throw it on the ground.
It doesnt allow me to do this when im in my inventory :(
There's a trash can you can drag them too. But if you're not in the mines then you can throw them on the ground for later and they don't despawn, they do despawn in the mines because the mines reset. Look in your controls to see which key or button it is. It was RT to throw on my controller so I changed it because it was too easy to toss things accidentally.
i wish particularly with insects that we could 'release' them back into the world, i feel sad when i catch a non-museum bug and i have to sell them or throw them out lol. i gave this feedback to the devs on their site.
ok well.... relax, no need to call me weird lmao. by "throw them out", yes, i was referring to the trash can. i do feel a lil uncomfy about just ruthlessly tossing bugs in the trash or selling them while playing a cute cottage core game. and i was not suggesting they remove it entirely, but for example, even despawning after a week is still more than enough time to give someone to pick stuff up, without contributing to (potential) game lag and stuff. but my post was not meant to be this deep, chill out.
The whole point of trash is to get rid of items from the world. Selling a bug is fine, I'm sure a good home is buying them. It's nice to have stuff not despawn so you can get it later. It's a problem in survival games that have no trash, to have stuff just sit forever, but you can remove anything from the world you want gone. So it's not an issue here.
You might be able to change the trash icon to something you feel better about by file editing and changing the image. Make it a swirl, you're sending them through a portal to another world. The trash icon makes sense for most people though, something else in the core game would confuse people. Especially since some are missing the current icon.
Also I accidentally tossed my axe down a hole in the mines, so you can remove anything you want from the world that way if you really don't want to use the trash. Bugs like caves, tossing them down into one should be fine. Actually you don't need to use a hole, anything you toss on the floor in there will be gone from the world soon as you leave, since the mines reset.
You have a few options.
