But even with this hypothesis, it's still too slow for me. And I don't understand the speed variation between maps.
The slow speed is definitely a glitch that is just affecting some players,. I also thought it was on purpose at first! But I watched a youtuber play it and it was much faster on his computer. On mine it was so slow I could easily see the individual running animation frames.

I had also tried setting the game to high priority in task manager (as another commenter suggested) and unfortunately it didn't help. Resolution is one of the few things I haven't tried out yet. As for fixing it, hopefully the dev team will be able to come up with a fix later on. There's still plenty of time before EA hits.
Does anyone know what development platform they're using? Is it Unity?
