Desperate need of a patch.
Game keeps crashing and restarting my PC.

I'm running Windows 7 64, 2.66 Intel Core 2 Quad, 8 GB Ram, 1.2 TBHD, and a Nvidia 550 Ti...

I've verified and "fixed" the file integrity twice now (Both times missing the same file.) Turning off a lot of the video effects and options helped for a while...Oddly, it also made the game prettier and took away the grainy garbage.

Many restarts and inching forward later.... just when I get to the poison dust cloud outside the mall... (and sick of the Hints I can't turn off)... frustration finally overcame my desire to play when it shut off my pc for the tenth time.

I've defragged, ran virus and malware scans, scrubbed the registry, updated drivers and still no joy. (Nothing wrong with the PC either.) Now uninstalling game & downloading again.

This is why I won't purchase a game until I've 1) Read reviews, 2) Talked with other users on forums (note that there is no Steam forum for I Am Alive), 3) Checked out Metacritic reviews (both pro and community), and 4) Looked at some gameplay on YouTube.

You just can't trust Devs/Publishers like you used to be able to. Would be nice to see this game get a patch, but not holding my breath (only my money).

Reviews do nothing for me, I like a lot of things others don't.. I disagree with Metacritic consistantly. On a games first day out forums and such (or the lack thereof) doesn't factor... but I did expect more out of Steam and Ubisoft.... although Ubisoft has a horrid record with game support.... I was hoping after the recent string of successes they'd have outgrown that behavior.

Uninstall & Reload did not solve the problem... although I did manage to progress to the grappling hook. Third grapple point and swinging I was wondering how I was going to handle the jump to the pylon when everything crashed.... oh... that's how.

The requirements for this game were pentium processors and low range video cards. how is this game only managing 15 fps for me?

At least you can play at all. I can;t even see my character unless I'm aiming straight up or down.

Yeouch. They lost me at Ubisoft, and I should have heard alarm bells when they mentioned in passing that it was a console port, but I had to come here and see just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Yeah, im facepalming like hell here - I swore I would NEVER buy another UBI Soft game - I bought this before I realized who made it. I have the damn stuttering and the game is not playable. My fault for not checking to see if these bastards were behind it first. They are the most terrible publisher ever, and this abortion of a game just confirms it. It sounds like it would be great if they would just patch the damn thing, but obviously with all the vitriol on the forums here, but still no patch it merely confirms that they dont care. F*** those guys.

in my opinion, before you install & play a new game, always do this :
1. update your system driver
2. update your graphic adapter driver
3. defrag your hard drive,
4. cleaning registry
5. don't forget to restart the windows after doing all things above

i don't have bad experience playing this game on my old sytem : core2quad q8200, 8gb memory, 2TB Hdd, and zotac 550Ti Amp!

Well, it's good someone can get it to run... I did all that before I just gave up on the thing and added another mark to the regret pile.
