Sideboard it if was playing BO3.
But yeah Sunfall is a pain in the arse for sure, people just have to learn to not drop their entire hand on the board all at once, it is what it is
since discover has gone meta, a lot of players have thankfully moved away from removal towards playing free cards en masse. but for awhile it wasnt even throwing out your board just to succumb to a sweeper. it was every single non land permanent having removal thrown at it. it didnt really matter what you played or if you tried to play around it, there was always removal being used on you. from white enchants soft exiling or making them unable to attack/block, black murder effects, blue bounce and witness protection, green fights/1sided fights, to even generic shocks and bolts.
throughout mtg history, each rotation averaged 5 to 8 sets, with the rare exception of 9 in 2008. were currently in unprecedented times, and currently have 11 legal sets in standard, with another 5 sets coming before both of the innistrads, kamigawa, and new capenna rotate out. there is simply way too much available to use at once.
take a shot for each time we say removal in this thread
Not fun at all.
