ok and when the whole deck is nothing but Toxic flyers? how many counter spells would been needed for that? i have run into 3 different flyer toxic decks. it was not fun.

on the other hand if it's cantrips that inflict poison or if it's Fynn with a bunch of deathtouch creatures then gotta use some other strategy
If you think a counter spell is exclusively an instant you aren't countering right, I often main pure flash creature based countering with only 7 actual counter spells. This mindset of "x" can't work instead of trying to make it work will only ever lead to disappointment and failure.
Toxic creatures tend to be small with a few exceptions, if your defensive creatures are tough enough they can't get through and you stop the bigger or harder to block ones.
