so in order to use that which i have to work for i have to pay cash, rofl well isnt that stupid lmao.
It's predatory, a ripoff, and a scam
Every game studio has a battlepass you have to pay for to receive the full benefits of, why is everyone cracking a tantrum over this, this is just regular video game practice, anyone that finds this predatory or unfair clearly hasnt played COD, Battlefield or any other recently release triple A game, even indie games have battlepasses, why does MTGA have to give you free stuff, you already get free packs for playing the game, you get free rewards in the mastery pass as well.
League of legends has cosmetics, nobody is crying up a storm about that, but the moment MTG does a battlepass you have to pay for to have the rewards, its morally wrong, lmfao.....
This doesn't have a free version so it's not a battlepass. It's the same as paying gems in clash of clans to speed something up to gain an advantage (or any equivalent mobile game that has the same system.)
Being a regular gaming practice doesn't make it ok, and it's not a tantrum to complain about a ripoff predatory scam that preys upon people that aren't careful or thinking and children with mom's wallet. Also known as wallet warriors.
It's not just cosmetics, and 20$ for cosmetics is definitely wrong lmao.
"why do they have to give you free stuff"
because that free stuff is cards, which you need to, you know, play the game at all, and nobody would play it if they needed to buy virtual cards without any other option when Paper MTG exists.
A business has to make money, otherwise they wont continue to exist, if you dont want it, dont buy it, its just cosmetics and some packs, big whoop???? its also incredibly cheap for what you get, you make value back, as i said, if you want I can give you 30 bucks so you can buy it, it seems like you want it that badly tbh
Seems like businesses are making tons of $$$ and companies like Valve can do whatever they want like make speech a privileged while everyone else is living pay check to pay check as wages stay the same and the cost of everything goes way up, which our leaders deny completely.
But, this isn't about "making money" this is about *how* they make money. If it's just money or gems for cosmetics, that would be fine.
The problem is the predatory battle pass that they pretend is some sort of "gift" but you have to spend money to use said tickets, in order to prey on people that either don't think through their purchases much or feel like they are missing out. It's scummy, it's predatory, it's a ripoff, and because of this deception of pretending it's something they are giving you for free (but you need money to use it), it is a SCAM.
I have no problem with McDonalds charging a few dollars for a burger. I have a problem when they say "look we are giving away free burgers! just collect these tickets!" and then charge a hundred dollars if you try to use the tickets.
