Thank you! Unfortunately I just found out that "daily deals" does the same - window closes and that's it. I also can't buy packs as the game crashes.
I was so stoked as this update seemed to run a lot faster, but I guess I’m off the game until the next “fix”.
If it assists in any way I find the mobile version FAR less buggy and problematic.
I'm on an elderly laptop, unfortunately. This darn game either runs perfectly alright, or it crashes every three seconds, which I *hate* because it affects other players. Whether I can play properly or not seems to depend on the time of day. Other functions, particularly opening packs, also work only when they want to. This latest version seemed super speedy and worked great for several games, but then I tried to do other stuff and basically nothing else works. It’s a wee bit frustrating, to put it mildly.
Your problem might just be the cache filling up to much. if you go to the following folder location you can delete/clear the cache of the game (won't force a redownload of anything) which might help you on an older machine, if so you'll probably have to do this once or twice daily:
C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\Temp\Wizards Of The Coast\MTGA
Note: AppData is a hidden folder, you can enable viewing them from folder options, or just manually add AppData to the location bar...thingy.
DAILY? I don't think I have the spoons for that :D
Is it likely to be a cache issue if it comes and goes depending on the time of day? I can literally play game after game with no issue until about 2pm GMT, after that time it all goes to hell. Sundays are just non-starters. I assumed it had to do with the servers being too busy.
Daily is just if you want to stay on top of it or w/e, you could ignore if obviously till the problem arises again and than clear the cache than obviously.
