Make it make sense

Regardless of the massive rant im going to go on I wanna make it clear I do enjoy the game, but a lot of the experience is ruined by the weird seemingly rigged card draw RNG this game has?

I am fairly new to the game but started to notice things as:
When im playing one type of deck ( i build my own decks as that's where the fun for me is and do not use any meta builds or guides) Im mainly getting matched with decks that counter the type of cards i have. I switched a deck and suddenly the opponents i get have decks ive never seen before , cards ive never played against which then tends to become the meta i play against (standard ranked)

So 1 - i notice matchmaking is made to put you against opponents that counter the cards you have.

2 - I have a deck of 60 card - 24 lands - 22 creatures - 14 enchantments sorcery etc yet there's games where i only draw land cards or vice versa, and that happens way too often when statistically it should be fairly balanced, but i get it, off hands will happen but not like 5-7 games in a row?

3 - I believe my deck is fairly balanced, where i have several card types x4 and then a few big expensive ones for late game. YET! for example I own 1 Liliana dreadhorde general, but pretty much every starting hand or early in the game i get that card. every. single. match. So thats almost 100% chance for me to draw a card that i only have 1 copy of. And I did a loooot of matches yesterday and dya before. Whereas the cards i have 2-4 copies of a lot of times i dont see for 2-3 matches in a row.
I understand there has to be some balancing but this is way too obiovus that some favoritism happens behind the code or something and it's really taking away from the experience for me. I want to enjoy this game but i think im just gonna eventually burn out from this.
Am i the only one who feels this way or this is something a lot of you deal with?

You're not the only one that feels that way, no. But mathematically it pretty much always comes down to streaks in a long mostly random chain; it's way easier to notice the 3 games in a row where you got screwed over by land than the 8 games in a row where your initial draws were just fine.

Yeah is rigged af better play the game irl,everyone is saying the same,not mentioning the amount of times you see the same 2 decks in standard over and over again this game is everything but fun

Game works fine. Its paper decks that are not properly shuffled and human bias that give the idea something is wrong with shuffler in Arena.

Alright, well that confirms it for me. thanks for your input everyone. I think ill keep enjoying the game for as long as i will, but will not spend any money on it. Vote with ur money, right.

yeah im doing the same ,i will not give them any penny,i come back from time to time i downloaded the steam version recently after i played on their own launcher because i thought it will have atleast some achievements to keep me busy but it doesnt...

Yeah it sucks. Sad they take away the element of surprise and excitement from the game havimg such a rigged card draw system implemented

Stick around on the forums and you'll see the same type of post like your own from new players and even older players. It's a shame really and when you look beyond Arena and look at for example Master Duel you suddenly see how crazy rigged this game is vs other online card games when it comes to drawing cards, pitting you vs decks ect ect.

Prime example is if you watch Cimo doing his masochist series on Master Duel for sure he does go vs meta decks but he goes vs all types of decks from other "masochist" style decks to the most sweaty hardcore meta decks but it's so so random as to which deck he might go vs next. Whereas with Arena if you play X deck at least 7/10 games will vs decks that are your counter. Swap to Deck K and suddenly who you are going vs changes as well.

yeah thats so true im ass at yugioh master duel but i alwais have fun when i play that game even because in my opinion is less rigged and you alwais see new decks in ranked, in my case was rare that i saw same deck in 3 games in a row like i do in magic arena,the only thing i dont like about master duel is the maxx c and ash abuse

Yeah it's pretty blatant in MTGA how purposeful the card distribution design in within a match. It definitely needs to be toned down at least by 30 % and i think it would make a world of a difference in general gameplay experience.
Like i like to play around strong cards but I add them for a chance for that big combo to pop off, so i can have an early mid game viable picks too

Oh for sure MD has issues but as you said it's rare to go vs the same type of deck multiple times in a row. I've played whole evenings where for example out of the roughly 30 games I've played I've gone against Black discard like 20 of those games. What is just nuts

Also another thing is then what's the point of buying new builds/decks if u gonna get matched against someone who coutners you and the whole thing is just underwhelming. I've had games that coutner my high draw game by just exiling half my dec. turn 5-7 im with 3 lands and nothing in my hand lol

I can't speak to the shuffler, but I'm 99% sure that Ranked matchmaking definitely matches you up with certain decks based on which deck you're playing. Been testing that for a few months now. It's really my only big complaint with the game.

I tried bringing it up on the subreddit and Discord but I got permanently banned from both immediately, which definitely isn't suspicious.
