Magic: The Gathering Arena

Magic: The Gathering Arena

Is the player base demoralized
I give the amount of early concessions (turn 1, 2, 0) as evidence. Today for me it's been very obvious, only 1/4 of my wins feel earned and the rest feel given by concessions.

And yes I mean demoralized in the way you are thinking

Pile decks-Turn 1 soul warden I'm quitting. Turn 1 discard i'm quitting. If I'm stalled so you can catch up as you curve your pile I'm quitting.
Slow roll first two turns I'm quitting. Drop a turn 1 Goblin I'm quitting. Turn 1 Prowess I'm quitting. If you're net decking I'm probably quitting. The list goes on and on. While Arena itself has many issues the players are what truly make this game insufferable .

yup, game isn't fun in it's current state and the company doesn't take it seriously.

Still kind of new to magic, but I would like to know the reasons here and what it all means. Is dropping a goblin that bad?

It's not that its bad its just boring and played out but that's also who you ask. I have over 3k hours in this game been playing since it released and have slugged through all the hyper meta. Any one remember when MonoBlue ran ranked? There have been many meta decks solidified in arena history and all the those decks have certain anchor cards that just get reused in everybody's decks. I don't like it because after so long it just feels like lazy magic.

The play queue for matchmaking is its own dumpster fire and depending on what deck you like to play you'll start to see a pattern of what you go up against. So turn 1 goblin I'm quitting. Its boring, its not creative and its lazy. What makes it worse is now people play with 100s of cards streamlined by the internet to work in ways it shouldn't. Its improbable for a 250 card deck to constantly turn out a turn 1 soul warden or a turn 1 skirk prospector people will argue but the matchmaker needs to be worked on and they need to do away with hand smoothing and people need to learn some sportsmanship and honor.

They don't see a need to because the side of the player base screaming for changes is being drowned out by the other side that seems to think WoTC is running this game perfectly.

The only "Lazy Magic" there is comes from people that say they "notice patterns" or "can see the matrix" but refuse to build decks or play in a way that take those patterns into consideration.

They'd rather concede turn 1 so they have more time to complain about it on the forums or something.

Cool story shill. Id like to provide this individual as example A for who likes to argue anyone's point on arena being a dumpster fire. This individual thinks arena is perfect and your opinion is wrong because you can't provide tangible enough evidence for this individual to make a smart informed decision outside of their echo bubble.

Ah, interesting. I am only currently trying to do the event right now with the 2 color precons. So far I have been losing. I like to play Black, so far I have used Snack Time and Power to the People. Gonna try the Fairy one next.

Id love to be able to add my deck I play in real life to the game. Enduring Enchantments with Anikthea, Hand of Erbos. I have had a lot of fun with that deck. Though it seems to struggle against flyers.

Those precons in the beginning can def be tricky but once you get the hang of it you'll get it ^_^ It would be really cool to be able to add cards from our own collection I can only imagine the crazy combo's we would see :steamhappy: Don't worry about the complaints you see on here even from me just enjoy the game :)

lmfao What does this even mean? We are now at the "Just say stuff" phase. I never said Arena wasn't bad. I said you didn't know enough about what you were talking about and quoted your own comments to prove it.

Oh, Texas. Now, it all makes sense.
