Magic non ironacally matchs some of the events on the world. This will sound shizo but you can go back in time and check yourself.
This one is to signal the increase in racism on the world.
Gimmie my Akira crossover, now.

there's sooo much cool "intertextuality" here, the akira and mad max stuff is awesome but I think my favourite parts are the stuff that builds on previous magic sets like the lotus motifs and the visual identities of amonkhet and kaladesh coming through in the art

why did you buy it if you don't even like it? lol.
People getting mad for MTG letting the characters having fun for once instead of rescuing the multiverse every time. Can't also understand why vehicles in a technically advanced world are an issue and mechs in Urza's story were ok to them.

also this is quite clearly developing for an era of greater planar interconnectivity where whole planes can be "at war" or otherwise interacting, which is a cool story arc and something we've only seen before in phyrexian wars.

like, the culture clash between Ixalan and Ravnica is something I'd buy a box of, what happens if Innistrad and Eldraine go to war, the interplanar stuff that builds on the feel of sets like Strixhaven is a really interesting new thing to explore

I'd really really love to see some interaction between Amonkhet and Alara for instance, like both planes got ravaged by Bolas, what resulted in that? Do they share some similarities? Do the peoples of both planes even join together in like trade or something? That would be awesome.

see that's awesome and it's why i'm excited for the next few years - this is a first of a kind interaction in a storyline about the sparks and the way the planes interact and possibly stuff that will shape the next ten years of magic. In a set that also touches base with magic classics - did y'all see Hulldrfiter

Did you play much Classic Magic? I did, still have the cards:) Some of them have this thing called " banding " and artifacts, well they were equipped not ridden hehe. I don't mind it so much, but world ending wizards fighting with race cars... It feels like a Dinosaur gearing up to cook a cake...
Oh, wait that was Barney, or if it was a Dragon, perhaps Eureeka's Castle (yes, I'm saying all this to date myself)
I thought racing was actually a somewhat cool theme- although i don't really think it goes well (like OTJ) with Magic.

The Tron bikes are cool, wish we could've gotten more stuff looking like that, maybe the Tron tanks- but that point it's just Tron. but still. Having a literal tank would be so cool. Not sure if it breaks the "no guns" sort of thing going on tho.

I really want tanks though now.
