Releasing a new set with no bundles, no special pass, nothing. Is weird and disappointing
I have no idea why Wizards decided to release this new pioneer masters set with no fanfare but since they put in such little effort i guess i'll do the same and not bother. This is the first time since i've been playing where a set of cards didnt get at least bundle pre-orders... Disappointing.

Because if you're actually good at draft you net a positive, the price of entry compared to reach the last 2 even 3 tiers of rewards out ways what you could buy with coin, you also you know...get packs or keep your drafted cards depending on the format which essential is better than a single pack...
so why not just keep drafting?

or save the gems for something you can't buy with gold?

You could keep drafting if you want depends on the amount of time you have but obviously you're gonna have to either perpetually keep drafting or cash out at some time. Why people don't do it more is because most people aren't good enough at draft to make it past 3 wins.

You get gems from the draft, if you do well enough which is what Minmataro is referring to, you can easily make netprofit and use gems to buy packs?
that's not what I got from it?

idk why you'd be using gold to draft then use the gems from that to buy packs.
You get cards and packs from drafting.

they JUST released foundations...

there was no reason to release pioneer so quickly (except to flush sets and cash grab exclusive reprints)

dont get me wrong, foundation brought back some neccessary necro cards and I get to play liliana again.... but still. I'm so tired of MTG rotating sets so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast.

I get the feeling like their were to many "whales" that already have essentially a full playable set of foundations just from the original cards in their previous set. I think pioneer was released because these people weren't buying packs.

Nah Pioneer masters has been in the planning stages for years. the next year is so crowded with standard legal sets this was the only time to put pioneer out so players would stop asking for the format on Arena.

Hoping this is true cause this pack didn't make me want to purchase packs any more than foundations did.

Well foundations is going to be around in standard for 5 years. there's no rush to get it all now anyway.

Older cards do not translate into foundation cards... I know because my older cards did not carry over... IE, I had liliana already but had to recollect her to use her in foundations.
