Statistical analyses prove that the Magic-Arena shuffler is truly random.
True randomness, of course, also means that someone can AND WILL get laughably bad cards 100 times in a row!!! With so many players, that's extremely likely to happen. It's not a proof that it's "rigged". Randomness doesn't give you the average result. A bad event is not automatically followed by a good one. THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS. It's a gamblers fallacy.
Your dissatisfaction results from a) bad luck or b) selective memory.
No wonder that many companies now create algorithms that only fake randomness (but prevent players from getting bad cards several times in a row).
Or better ... dropd this bs game its rigged af.
Everything else is pretty decent, but the land draws can be downright unrealistic . Been playing since 2018, it has gotten better for the most part but you still get these streaks where you get mana screwed.
I believe it's done to discourage quitting, unless necessary. On the load screen prompt it explains what I mean, it will read "Don't give up, everyone likes a good comeback story". To me that alone states the game would like you to participate until the end of the match, so that everyone may receive a percieved "fair" and enticing match. The game was design to do so.
Now as to how many loses are mixed in with your wins is hard to say and I believe based slightly on how you play cards. How you play them determines what you draw, as opposed to a truly random draw.
Designing the game like this helps stimulate real competitive gaming experiences which can drive sales. Sales keep everything here that we "enjoy" afloat. It is good and bad game design but hey I can't do any better lol. Just my take.
Because if he has problems with lands, he will not be able to win against you. Wizard choose your opponent because they can leave him win. And they do all they can to give your opponent a victory. Wizard watchs only economic balance of all players and they choose opponent and winner in fonction of this. If you spend no money, wizard will put a spoke in your wheel. Wizard has two goals WR of 50% +/- 10 % and pushing players to pour money down the drain.
And for this they cheat with a false random generator. Compare random on Magic the gathering Shandalar developped by microprose and random magic games sold on steam, you will see wizard cheats in duels of planeswalkers serie and arena games.
